Palatek Corporation was
originally organized in 1984 by H. Paul Laesch former VP of engineering for
Sullair Corporation. The original intent was to lend expertise to other
compressor manufactures that were in the oil flooded rotary screw air
compressor business. |

In 1988, Donald C. Hoodes, founder and former CEO of
Sullair Corporation joined his former VP to launch a kit concept rotary screw
air compressor package, however by 1990 it was deemed more feasible to enter
into the manufacturing of a new simple high efficient line of rotary screw
air compressor packages. |

With the help of a few past cadre of his former company Don
once again was in the compressor business and well on his way to doing it one
more time, however fate had another plan and in 1994 Don passed away suddenly
from a heart attack. In need of additional capital it was decided to
sell the company to GHS Corporation which took place in July of the same
year. |

In 1998, Sullivan Industries (a portable air compressor
company) was also purchased by GHS Corporation which now gave the company
both industrial electric and diesel driven air compressors. This combination
of both electric and portable air compressors gave the company what it needed
to compete in the market place and it was decided to trade name the two
companies Sullivan-Palatek. |
